Members of the Gulf Coast Carbon Collaborative and invited guests are meeting on April 8, 2020 on Zoom Video Conference for the group’s first quarterly working meeting.
The online working meeting will include presentations, facilitated discussion and working group breakout sessions focusing on project development around key content areas defined at the December launch meeting in New Orleans.
Introductions and Case Study Presentations (10:00am to 12:00pm)
Presentations from BP, The Ohio State University, ExxonMobil, HARC, Entergy, C2ES and the Center for Houston's Future will help focus the group on opportunities for project development around topics including land-based sequestration, CCUS, electrification, strategy/technology information sharing, and barriers and enablers related to policy and regulation, education and communications.
Breakout Sessions (12:30pm to 1:30pm)
Presenters and US BCSD facilitators will join participants in Zoom breakout rooms for guided discussions, giving participants the opportunity to dive deeper and explore practical ways to collaborate on actions using targeted decarbonization approaches. These conversations will set the stage for future working groups, where timelines, next steps, and commitments will be determined in the months ahead.
Report Out (1:30pm to 2:00pm)
In mid-afternoon, the full group will reconvene to report out on findings and insights from the day as well as determine expectations for participation going forward.
Given travel restrictions due to COVID-19, our team has moved this event online, using Zoom Video Conferencing, to better accommodate attendees and keep everyone safe. Thanks again to our strategic partner - the Center for Houston's Future - for their original commitment to host.
If you or anyone from your organization is interested in presenting a case study, leading a discussion, or contributing to the day’s programming in any other way, please contact: Claude Griffin, US BCSD at griffin@usbcsd.org.
